Scientia Education Experience: Communities
This presentation provides practical and tangible examples, from deep within the belly of the teaching interface, that will help staff build learning communities with, and for, your undergraduate students. We will look at ways to inspire and motivate students, and approaches that enhance their sense of purpose and direction while studying with us at UNSW. We will also discuss ways to connect first and final year students so that students are part of a learning environment that transcends their immediate surroundings and experiences. And there might be a few gags too, depending on time. No promises though.

About Dr Nicholas Apoifis
Nick Apoifis is Senior Lecturer in Politics & International Relations at UNSW. He works with the application and development of settler colonial theories, social movement theories and radical qualitative research practices, bringing many of these insights into the classroom. He was awarded the UNSW Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence (Early Career), 2017, and in 2019 he was runner-up in the KPMG Inspiring Teacher Award for all first-year conveners at UNSW.
