Hybrid Teaching achievements recognised within ADA Dean's Awards

UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture recently celebrated the achievements of academics and faculty staff through the ADA ECAN Awards for Research Excellence and ADA Dean’s Awards. 

The full official list of the ADA faculty awards for 2022 will be published in the coming days and will be linked here once available. Many of these acknowledge the work and highlights related to supporting education and the student experience.

Among the award recipients are ADA's Faculty Education Development team and Dr Rotimi Abidoye (School of Built Environment), whose efforts and work, particularly on enhancing Hybrid Learning & Teaching, earned them three awards.

Rotimi was the recipient of two awards attributed to Hybrid delivery for the three courses he taught in Terms 1 and 2, 2022. He also received his highest myExperience scores for his courses Property Performance Analysis (Term 1, 2022) and Property Valuation & Property Development (Term 2, 2022).

The ADA Education Development team, led by Natasha Lukman, are the recipients of an award which recognised the team’s creative and extensive work on hybrid solutions and support for the faculty.  

In Term 2, 2022, the team began the mammoth task to build a faculty-based framework providing pedagogical support to their academics delivering courses in hybrid. In addition, the team collaborated with other faculties including Science, Business and Engineering, to source designs and develop bespoke hybrid technology solutions, such as portable hybrid technology kits, for their academics to use in design studios, labs, and other makerspaces.

"This team has been at the heart of enabling flexible delivery modes throughout the pandemic and have gone above and beyond to create accessible, responsive, and tailored solutions for staff and students," reads the official statement. The award also acknowledged the team for continually demonstrating creativity and innovation in their own work, as well as inspiring and enabling others to be creative.
