UNSW Online in collaboration with the Business School has launched Australia's first fully online postgraduate program in financial technology. The Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) responds to significant employer demand for FinTech professionals who possess the right combination of finance and technology expertise.
The new program is designed by Australia’s top-ranked School of Banking and Finance in collaboration with industry leaders. Students pursuing FinTech will learn specialised financial technology skills enabling their ability to lead innovation in the businesses, start-ups or teams.
Director of UNSW Online Liz Smith says she is delighted to have the Master of Fintech added to the suite of programs offered through UNSW Online. Since the launch of the Master of Data Science and Master of Analytics in 2019, there have been 817 new students attracted to UNSW. Fintech has generated significant interest from prospective students in its first weeks of being in the market and is predicted to perform strongly.
The Program Director Luis Goncalves-Pinto says the Master of FinTech is designed for ambitious working professionals who are familiar with the finance industry – specifically, those with a finance background who want to improve their technical skills, as well as those with a technical background who are looking to develop potential applications in the financial services industry.
There is the option to graduate early with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. Students who complete the full Master program will develop their own applied FinTech project.
Applications for the Master of Financial Technology are now open with the first intake commencing in Hexamester 5, August 2020. For more information about the program, please visit the Master of Financial Technology website.
